All eyes are on El Clasico as far as the Copa Del Rey goes, but there are three other ties, all featuring La Liga sides. Espanyol plays Tuesday, Bilbao plays Mallorca on Wednesday, and Valencia host Levante on Thursday.

Jan 17, 2012 - El Clasico is the biggest non-final club football game in the world, regardless of what competition it's being played in. Copa Del Rey enthusiasts and fans of the other sides remaining in the competition should probably forgive the public for only focusing on that one game for that reason. But there are still three other games that are going on, and since none of them overlap with Real Madrid vs. Barcelona, you might as well watch them.

Espanyol, Mirandes, Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca are on one side of the bracket in the quarterfinal. This will make Marcelo Bielsa a favorite to reach the competition's final, and football is better when Marcelo Bielsa wins trophies, regardless of what team he is managing. The other side features the big two, along with Valencia and Levante. Yes, La Liga's top four sides are all playing each other and are in the same half of the bracket.

Athletic Bilbao Vs. Mallorca, 2012 Copa Del Rey Quarterfinals

Real Madrid vs. Barcelona had the spotlight on Wednesday, but Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca were also in action on the other half of the Copa del Rey draw. Athletic, who play Real Madrid in La Liga over the weekend, did not appear to have one eye on that game as they played a full-strength side, holding nothing back in the first leg at San Mames. How they do over the weekend remains to be seen, but that decision was justified on Wednesday when Marcelo Bielsa's men defeated Mallorca 2-0.

Mallorca are now going to have a very difficult time getting to the semifinals after failing to get an away goal. Bilbao were at their finest, with Fernando Llorente scoring in the 35th minute and Iker Muniain adding an insurance goal in the 59th minute. Defender Ander Herrera and workhorse forward Gaizka Toquero came in as late substitutes to kill the game off and did so successfully, denying Mallorca a goal.

Sergio Busquets (MIDFIELDER - Barcelona), Barcelona, Real Madrid

Despite all of his histronics, Sergio Busquets is one of the best midfielders in the world and he shows it when Fabio Coentrao dares to try to burst past him on the Barcelona right, diving into an inch-perfect slide tackle that takes the ball off the fullback, flattens him, and allows to keep it in play. Granted, if someone did that to him he'd have claimed it broke his leg, but it's still a brilliant piece of play regardless.

Real Madrid, who'd really quite like to win this match, are making a change, taking off Gonzalo Higuain and Lassana Diarra and replacing them with Mesut Ozil and Jose Callejon, which will allow them to move from this defensive 4-3-3 to a more familiar 4-2-3-1. Whether or not that's enough to break down this Barcelona defence or not is a good question, but there's plenty of firepower and speed in the hosts' front line at this point, and it's just a matter of getting them the ball. Within seconds of coming on, Callejon takes out Lionel Messi and earns himself a yellow card. Pepe treads on Messi's hand while he's on the ground and should be sent off, but isn't.

Real's Pepe cautioned after hand-stamp

Spain's football authority cautioned Real Madrid defender Pepe on Monday after he stamped on the hand of Barcelona's striker Lionel Messi in a cup clash last week.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation named Pepe on its list of players sanctioned for dangerous play in the King's Cup quarter-finals, along with three other Real players and Gerard Pique of Barcelona.

Television images of the January 18 clash showed Pepe walking towards the referee, glancing down quickly at Messi, who was lying on the ground, and then stamping on his left hand with his boot.

The Portuguese defender apologised saying the stamp was accidental, fuelling criticism in the press which considered the apology unconvincing.

Real lost the first-leg cup match 2-1 at home and travel to Barcelona on Wednesday for the second leg. They sit five points clear of Barcelona at the top of the Spanish league.

The other Madrid players cautioned by the federation for dangerous play in Monday's list were Fabio Coentrao, Jose Maria Callejon and Ricardo Carvalho.

Real Madrid Vs Barcelona, Clasico 2012

Greetings from the land of sand. This is the weekly segment here on Managing Madrid where I walk around my international campus and ask random people of different backgrounds and football loyalties questions about the footballing world and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid travel to Barcelona this Wednesday to face their rivals once again in the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinals series. Los blancos will be looking to ride the momentum after their 4-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the league. It is yet to be seen as to whether Mourinho will be changing his strategy come Wednesday night but after accepting the blame for Real's disappointing 1-2 in the previous leg, he's probably busy rethinking something.

The Question this Week: Who will advance to the next round of the Copa del Rey?

When you answer, please keep in mind that this question isn't asking who will win, but rather, who will advance. For example, even if Real Madrid manages to pull off a 1-0 victory in Camp Nou, they still won't continue because the Catalans have two away goals.

Shinta Bachir Diancam Dibunuh Mantan Kapolda karena Dendam Asmara?

Kabar mengejutkan tiba-tiba datang dari artis Shinta Bachir. Ia mengaku diancam dibunuh oleh seorang mantan Kapolda Metro Jaya. Benarkah ancaman itu datang karena adanya dendam masalah asmara?

"Latar belakangnya, yang jelas pengancam pernah dekat dengan Mbak Shinta," ujar kuasa hukumnya, Achmad Rifai dalam jumpa pers di Gedung Mayapada, Sudirman, Jakarta Selatan, Kamis (19/1/2012).

Achmad Rifai juga tidak menyebutkan siapa mantan Kapolda Metro Jaya yang dimaksud. Tak ada penyebutan inisial, atau petunjuk lain.

Yang jelas, pihak bintang film 'Pulau Hantu 3' itu juga sudah berusaha untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut secara kekeluargaan. Namun, niat itu selalu tak bersambut.

"Saya juga sudah mengundang sang pengancam untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini secara keluarga. Tapi di sini saya ingin fokus untuk menyelidiki SMS ancaman ini dulu," tuturnya.

Ketika kembali didesak, apakah ancaman tersebut berlatar dendam urusan asmara, lagi-lagi Rifai tak memberikan jawaban jelas. "Mungkin, kita belum mau membuka dulu untuk hari ini," ujarnya.

Pengguna Twitter pasti akrab dengan akun @poconggg. Arief Muhammad adalah sosok di balik akun itu, yang awalnya misterius. Namanya mulai dikenal sejak dia mengemas kicauannya yang lucu di akun Twitter-nya itu menjadi buku yang laris diserbu, berjudul 'Poconggg Juga Pocong'. Ia pun semakin tenar ketika muncul pertama kali di hadapan publik setelah bukunya itu diangkat ke layar lebar. Kini dirinya juga sudah mempunyai acara talkshow di Trans TV.


7. Axel Andaviar



Buah jatuh tak jauh dari pohonnya. Mungkin pepatah itu tepat untuk Axel Andaviar. Soal penampilan dan pilihan hidup, putra gitaris Ovy '/rif' itu sangat identikk dengan anak band. Beranting dan memiliki tato persis seperti ayahnya. Namanya juga semakin dikenal setelah membintangi film 'Bukan Cinta Biasa 2'. Namanya mungkin memang tak familiar bagi Anda. Namun jika melihat wajahnya, Anda pasti sudah lama 'kenal' dengan pria satu ini. Cowok kelahiran Surabaya, 11 Oktober 1979 itu kini tenar lewat perannya sebagai pria konyol di sitkom 'Calon Bini'. Karakter Bang James alias Jamal begitu hidup ia perankan. Ayu Azhari Sebenarnya Aku Gak Pernah Punya Masalah

Bagi Ayu Azhari, tahun baru tidak harus dihabiskan dengan pesta mewah, justru dirinya memiliki kebiasaan untuk berkumpul bersama di rumah bersama keluarga.

"Biasanya kita di rumah bareng-bareng, kebetulan kita di apartemen. Anak-anak malah yang banyak kegiatan, saya dukung aja," jelasnya.

Istri dari Mike Tramp yang ditemui di kawasan Panglima Polim, Jakarta Selatan beberapa saat lalu ini juga lebih bijak dalam menanggapi apa yang sudah terjadi sepanjang tahun 2011.

"Menurutku, sebenarnya aku malah gak pernah punya masalah, aku gak setuju kalo dibilang sedang menimpa masalah. Alhamdulillah, semua anak-anakku meski dari ayah yang berbeda tetap menganggap aku ibu mereka, semuanya baik. Insya Allah saya punya rencana yang baik dan terus berdoa," lanjutnya.

Kakak dari Rahma Azhari ini juga lebih memilih untuk introspeksi diri terhadap apa yang sudah menimpanya. Ayu juga bersyukur dengan semua anaknya dan sang suami yang setia menemaninya di Jakarta.
